As Spock arrived approximately 15 minutes later, he found his bondmate in the living room - or better, in the remains of the room - in a state that one could only name as undone. The children, on the other hand, could hardly stop laughing.

It took some time -- and much urging from Spock -- before Jim, in his highly dramatic fashion, told the entire story.

Spock saw it less tragically - he always found these end-of-year customs extremely illogical.

"Jim," he comforted his bondmate. "The participants at the discussion received, as thanks for their efforts during the holidays, a basket that - so far I have overlooked - provides various usual foods for this season, and also a bottle of sparkling wine. We also have some supplies still, and the others doubtlessly can contribute something, too, to the celebration. So we should be able to create an appropriate meal. And together, we can clean this room quickly."

"Do you really think so?" Jim sniffled loudly. "But without punch...."

"I am certain, we will found enough alcohol," Spock assured him, although he, himself, could gladly dispense with that.

At that moment, a knock came at the door, and Spock sent Sara to open it. He heard McCoy's voice. "Good evening, darling. Scotty said that your father offered to settle our purchases. I came to pick them up."

"Without firework it's not a proper new year's eve," Jim sniffled meanwhile in the living room.

Spock sighed mentally. This he certainly could very gladly dispense with. "Perhaps someone else shares your interest in this and has some for you," he comforted Jim.

"Yes, Angelo wanted..." Suddenly Jim jumped to his feet. "I've got to go immediately back to the city."

Spock looked at him with surprise. "The shops have already closed, Jim. You will not be able to buy anything more."

Jim shook his head. "I have forgotten Angelo in the shopping-centre."

At this moment a third voice joined Sara's and Leonard's. Harry Morrow asked if anyone knew where his partner was.
